BIG TEXAS TOY RUN

Dec 17, 2007

According to the Star-Telegram newspaper “The 21st Big Texas Toy Run enjoyed the biggest crowd ever with 65,000 to 70,000 motorcyclists participating in the processions from Fort Worth, Grapevine, and Dallas to the Arlington Convention Center. Over $1,100,000.00 worth of toys and cash was donated benefiting children through the Mental Health Mental Retardation and other charities.”

I don’t know how anyone could possibly estimate that vast ocean of bikers but I can assure you it was most definitely the biggest Toy Run we’ve ever had in the near 21 years I’ve been attending it. If there is a way of proving it I’ll bet my money on the fact that it was the “WORLD’S LARGEST TOY RUN…EVER!” In down town Fort Worth alone we probably had 30 t0 35 thousand bikes in the 40-block staging area (check out the pictures.) Of course the 70-degree balmy weather had its positive effect.

Our special celebrity guest included a group of America’s finest military men just returning home from the fighting in Iraq. With our traditional Texas biker spirit they received a standing ovation for their service for our country. Other than that Mayor Click, Jason the Elf, and of course Santa, who rode up on stage on his Harley, was a big hit…especially with the kids.

The Boozefighters MC received a trophy award for the largest participation as we handled (with the help of some other friendly clubs) the gathering, donations, and traffic control in Fort Worth. It is one of the most important events we look forward to each year and we were proud to be of service to our communities and especially the kids with needs.

Without further whoop’la I’ll leave it to the pictures to speak for them selves. Thanks to everyone that took part in this important event and for sharing your Christmas spirit with the kids.
