MAY 2004 PROFILE

“HONDA
BOB” BOSTICK
DOB
10-20-31
HONDA BOB is the senior member of CH 69 in
Fort Worth, Texas. He has brought valuable
experience and wisdom to the BFMC during his past 8 years of membership.
Hell
he’s been every where and done every thing. Starting with his first job
repairing radiators and delivery boy. Not bad for a 12 yr old kid that didn’t
even have a drivers lisc.
At
13 he was riding motorcycles and by 15 thru 19 was winning flat track races.
He continued racing bikes until 1958, at which time he switched to sprint
cars.
Bob served in the Navy 1951 thru 1955 on a LST
SHIP in both Korea and Viet Nam. And he saw
a lot of war action during that time.
After getting out of the military he joined the
“SIDEWINDERS MC” in Fort Worth. He
worked as a Police Officer for the FWPD, and then went to work for South Western Bell.
When he retired from SWB as a District Manager in 1984 he was presented with a
special honor for having 25 of those 33 years of service with PERFECT
ATTENDANCE!
HONDA BOB and his lovely wife SASSY were
the first couple married in the
clubhouse by our CHAPLIN IRISH ED MAHAN on New Year's Eve 1998. And
they continue to be one of the most supportive couples for the
Boozefighters and Boozettes of anyone.
Why
do we call him “HONDA BOB” you may ask. Well you see…Bob has had lots of
Harleys but there is one old favorite Honda he has kept around forever. As he
explains it – “well I’ve got to have something dependable to ride while my
Harley is in the shop.”
