Southern California 2004 BFMC "Overnighter"
As you head east out of Oceanside, California, the entire landscape changes. You leave the Pacific in your rear-view mirror and the desert/sea terrain becomes the rolling hills and winding roads of ancient Indian land...box canyons...the sweet taste of wilderness...the stuff that the wild west was made of...the stuff that the true west is still made of. This was the perfect setting for "Snowman," the charter holder of San Diego's chapter 3, to hold his 6th annual "Overnighter."
There are two things that you can always count on with "Snowman"...one is that he will share his passion for the history of this club, and the legacy of the biker lifestyle in general, with you...the other is great food!
On display near the campground hall was an amazing wall of photos that help to tell the long, legendary story of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club. How many of us have ever seen the inside of the All American? How many can recognize men like Fat Boy Nelson, George Manker and some of the other "Original Wild Ones" at a glance? The pictures..."Snowman's" tales...these are the kinds of things that bring serious pride into the green and white colors. Vendors...a bike show...tons of food...members from chapters 3, 8, 11, 4, 6 (maybe more...sorry if I left anyone out)..."Original Wild One," Gil Armas...independents...and members of several other clubs showed up to make this a great weekend. Thanks, "Snowman," for a cool time...and for the inspiration that you always instill in all of us. -BILL HAYES
