July 20, 1953 - August 19, 2000 Robert 'Ace' Hiatt went out for a midnight ride after he and his wife had been working hard on painting their new office. Around 3:30 a.m., he was returning to their new home when something went wrong. Apparently he lost a saddlebag and turned around to retrieve it. While slowly scouting along the highway, just inside the median, a car zoomed around the curving freeway and clipped him head on. It's hard to understand fate. Ace was a proud man who served his country for twenty-four years and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. He served with honors receiving the National Defense ribbon with Bronze Star for service in Desert Storm and Vietnam plus numerous other accomodations. He and his wife were married for 28 years and raised three children. Ace would have been a Grandfather for the first time in November. Ace has been working as the Business Manager at Traditions Motorcycle Company whle achieving additional scholastic degrees in Business Management and Business Administration at LeToureau University. Ace told several of us just a week or so before he died that he couldn't believe how great things were turning out. That in just a matter of another month he would complete his school work and the he'd be on top of the world. And the greatest thing was, he could be a much more active Boozefigther, which is something he loved almost as much as his family. No one can understand fate. Maybe it was simply God's plan to take him home while he was at the pinnacle of his life. We will miss you brother, and we'll always keep your memory close to our hearts! Ride Free! |
