Shanghai Red

Hello I writing you to let you know how GREAT the BOOZEFIGHTERS are.

First of all my name is Shane Stanley and I have gotten to meet just a few of the Boozefighters and have thought the world of them it all started when I was working for Julie's Pawn Shop in Burleson Texas and was able to meet several Motorcycle Club riders well I was working at Best Buy in Mansfield Texas during the Christmas season trying to make a little extra money when I noticed a man who appeared to be a biker but the strange thing was no one would help him (cause he was a biker)

I noticed he had a beanie on that read BFMC and I asked him you are a Boozefighter rite his eyes light up and he replied yes I asked him what I could help him with today and he responded with various electronic items anyway I found out he was with Chapter 69 and he and I talked a bit Im sorry I cant remember his name but he was very great to talk to but everybody who saw me help him after he left and spent a good amount of money with Best Buy came up to me and said you helped him out but he is a biker weren't you scared of pissing him off I told them hey he is a great person just because he is a biker doesn't  mean anything else this is what I will never understand why people think bikers are bad people.

I myself am a cowboy and and I think cowboys and bikers have a lot in common ...first of all we both are wild and free and will do almost anything to help anybody out that we can that pretty much sums it up rite their but I just wanted to tell you out of every Boozefighter I have meet they have all been great I just thought I would write this to you all and maybe you can share my story with the BoozeFighters if wanted

Thank You
Shane Stanley

The book, "The Original Wild Ones," is essentially finished after nearly two years of work and research...we are going into the final editing and picture selection phase. The book will be accompanied by a 47 minute DVD. That part of the project has been completely finished. The DVD features filmed interviews with "Original Wild Ones," Les Haserot, Gil Armas and Jack Lilly...they were interviewed at Les' 86th birthday party by BFMC National Historian, Jim "JQ" Quattlebaum...and there is also an interview with "Big Daddy" (CH 6 charter holder and National VP) and "Snowman" (CH 3 charter holder). The DVD also includes "on the road" footage of members of BFMC CH 21 filmed in and around the Northern California town of Locke...scenes from a big BFMC party that was held at PJ's Saloon in El Dorado, California...and the music of the Charlie Brechtel Band (the number one biker band in America) including scenes from his debut of the tune, "Wino Willie," in front of thousands of bikers at the Sacramento Easyriders magazine bike show. More updates soon...

Bill,

I met you at our Ft.Worth Clubhouse last year with JQ. Your decision to publish our (BFMC) history both past and present is a Honorable tribute to all of us. I commend you and really enjoyed reading the first excerpts posted on the National BF website !!! Have you planned on having a organized "book signing", and when can our brothers get a hand on this book?

Boozefighters Up !!!!!!

Sincerely,

  "Tex"

BFMC Chapter 69

Tex!! Thanks so much for getting in touch with me about the book...last Saturday we had a huge 86th birthday party for Les Haserot out here in California...we had the privilege of having a professional film crew get some historic footage of Les, along with other "originals," Jim Cameron, Gil Armas, Jack Lilly and "Dago" reliving the good ol' days of early BFMC history...it was truly emotional as we watched them recalling their youth...JQ flew out here from Texas and was able to stay with me for this event...the interviews will be featured in a DVD that we will have to accompany the book...we were also informed that Easyriders magazine has some footage of Wino that we can use in the DVD...there is no timetable on exact on-the-shelf dates for the book...these things take awhile...but the writing process is beginning to wind down...on March 27th I will be up in Sacramento for a get-together that the new chapter up there is having...we will do some more filming up there and that should wrap up the DVD...hopefully the final touches on the book will follow. Again, Tex, my thanks!!!
