PROFILE

FEBRUARY 2005

`PATTIE’

Patricia `PATTIE’ Warner started her adventurous worldly life in the small town of East Aurora, N.Y. where the most exciting thing around was “Fisher Price Toys.”

From there she and her military husband (at the time) saw a lot of the world, to include living in Guam. Back in the states she lived in Arizona, Indiana, Mississippi, and about eight years ago landed in the great state of Texas.

Pattie has three children she is very proud of. Will (26), Rachel (17), and Katherine (10). She also has three Grandchildren. Zachary (6), Kaleigh (3), and Madison (2). They and their Air Force family are living in Alaska now.

Pattie met a Boozefighter named `Brooklyn’ and he brought her to the clubhouse on an early date. She exclaims that from that point on her lonely life has changed. Since meeting ladies such as Sassy, Kelly, Bandit, Mouse, Wicked, Bambi, Giggles, and Madam, just to mention a few, she now has the feeling of SISTERHOOD and a closeness like she has never had. She adds with a big smile…”and I love Brooklyn – my MONKEY MAN!”

Eventually she joined the Boozettes and has been very active and supportive of club functions and members. She has taken it on her own to cook and bring food to the weekly “Friday Family Night” gathering. Pattie says it’s her way of giving something back to a new family that has become so very important to her life.

NOTE: Ever wonder how a person is selected to be our PROFILE OF THE MONTH? Let me shed some light on the subject.

First of all I try to select someone that represents the MAIN STREAM of our membership for Boozettes and Boozefighters alike. The GRASS ROOTS so to speak, but yet someone that stands out as SPECIAL. I tend to exclude the top officers since they usually get more attention and publicity anyway.

Second I not only make my own observations but I listen to comments other members make at random. Shop talk if you will. For example let me tell you how that kind of thing led to the selection of `PATTIE’.

SELECTION: Back during our fall National meetings numerous Boozettes handled the food preparation and served the multitudes. They all did a great job getting every one fed. Later I noted that of those that stayed to clean up the mess one was Pattie.

At our New Years Eve party Pat Q pointed out that Pattie was constantly tending to the food tables, keeping every thing organized and fresh, plus picking up after people.

`DANCER’ ask me at the clubhouse recently as to who I planned to select for the next Profile? Then he recommended I consider Pattie since she always brings food on Family Night. And then he joked about how her daughter Katherine always helps and did you know she calls me DADDY – 3? I’m sort’a her God-father I guess since they treat me like part of the family.

JIMBO adds to Dancers comments…and boy can she cook! She’s always asking me if she can be of any help around the clubhouse. She really deserves some special recognition for what all she does for the club.

MAVERICK recently came around to everybody asking if they would like to contribute to buying a gift certificate for Pattie. I think she deserves a special thanks, he explained.

All of the above and many – many more people are right. We owe `PATTIE’ a very special THANKS! And now you see…the decision really WASN'T too hard selecting the February Profile. “THANK YOU PATTIE FOR BEING OUR VERY SPECIAL PERSON OF THE MONTH – AND MONTHS – AND MONTHS…
