BOOZEFIGHTERS TRIBUTE GROUP VISITS DURING THE NATIONAL MEETING
"BUFFALO ASS SALOON" A year ago (Nov 2004) during our National Membership Meeting a pre-planed conference call came in from France. The phone was passed to Big John (BFMC NAT”L PREZ). As he answered he was advised that a special plaque was being presented (as we speak) to the club in appreciation from the BTG. At that very moment JQ held up the imported plaque for all members to see.
Big John responded with an invitation for the BTG to attend our next National Meeting & Convention in Texas during 2005. That special invitation was accepted.
The first thing in order was to get them out of the big city hustle & bustle and show them a “bit of Texas style country.” That included attending a horse live-stock auction and cafe, and some elbow bending at the next door COWBOY SALOON. Various locals came over to extend a big Texas WELCOME.
"WHAT'S FOR DINNER?" The six BTG men were welcomed warmly with applause during the main meeting, as their lady Isabelle joined the Boozettes for a luncheon at the same time. During the big meeting the BTG presented a big iron and wood banner honoring the BFMC. It now has been mounted on our clubhouse wall in a prominent display position. Throughout the weekend there were lots of partying, eating, and of course plenty of beverages to wash it all down.
BTG group with Vern Autrey and JQ. "WHAT A TONGUE!" Our guest got to meet and rub shoulders with ORIGINALS Vern Autrey, Dago, and Shark. One of the BTG made the comment, “we enjoy ourself with you everyone we think we are dreaming.”
"DAGO LIKED THEM"
"THEY CAUGHT A SHARK"
"HE LOOKS HORNY" After the convention ended it was back to the country and the Quattlebaum farm. Them there French hombres had a whole lot more proving to do! Well they were put to the test…driving a tractor…feeding the goats…riding the horses…shooting a six-shooter. Well we didn’t really get around to the gun but we did down a lot of shots. We also got some sightseeing done at Strokers in Dallas, the Stockyard district of Old Fort Worth, and some shopping at a little western style town called HICO.
"WHERE'S THE KICK-START?" By the time we had to drop the MAGNIFICENT SEVEN off at the airport for their flight home we all had a sad feeling about parting. The BTG and the BFMC had become very close brothers & sisters. We thoroughly enjoyed their visit and look forward to seeing them again as time goes on…HERE and / or THERE.
