Largest Re-enlistment Ceremony - Ever

This was the largest re-enlistment ceremony ever held in military history. The ceremony was held on the 4th of July, 2008 at Al Faw Palace, Baghdad , Iraq . General David Petraeus officiated. This amazing story was ignored by the 'mainstream' media.  For those who have been in the Al Faw Palace, you'll have a better appreciation of the number of people crammed around the rotunda supporting the re-enlisting soldiers. ____ Unknown Author

JQ, the above is not my work but it is a good story. I received the story above from a buddy this week so I’m sure it’s already out on the net as the event happened back on 4 July this year.  The only changes I made from the Unknown Author was to take out all the media blasting, that wasn’t what the story was or should have been about.  I’ve been in the Army going on 10 years and this is my second trip to Iraq and did the Afghanistan and Kosovo prior to being in Iraq.  Few things are more awesome than to see young men and women re-enlist in a Combat Zone, BAGHDAD, Iraq of all places.  It’s hard to find words to express, but to be stationed here with them and to know and share the hardships they endure daily.  Its bad enough being away from friends and families, despite those hardships, these young Soldiers continue to serve their Country and do it with Dignity, Honor and Respect.
