IT'S IN THE BOOK

I've got great pictures of the Nat'l and I am sure you all do too.  Give me your best shot at jqhistory@digitex.net and I'll try to make a fair selection for our Nat'l 2007 story  Keep in mind we maintain a "GP" rating,  Any brief side stories will be appreciated and considered too.  "GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT" and I'll try to make a collective effort story of the greatest Nat'l meeting we've ever had.

Thanks...JQ.

We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.

I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease..

I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"

When a flag had draped a coffin. Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard

At the bottom of the sea

Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

Enjoy Your Freedom &God Bless Our Troops

Chapter 68 represented the Boozefighters proudly during this year's Daytona Bike Week.  Near two dozen of the Green & White gathered for a group photo shot prior to mounting  their bikes for a ride down the main downtown drag where a large crowd of spectators and motorcycle enthusiasts cheered them on.  Obviously a lot of people knew about the historical significance of our club as at one point the chant "BOOZEFIGHTERS UP" come booming out, and there were a lot of THUMBS UP gestures.

One of the prospects was overwhelmed from the experience.  Up-on conclusion of the ride he said to his sponsor..."Damn I knew we were historical but now I feel like a CELEBRITY!  This is the greatest experience I've ever had."  The reply was..."Well hang in there little brother.  You ain't seen nothing yet.  There's a lot more to come as you get into this BF'er thing.

Thanks CH 68 for doing us proud...JQ
