APRIL 2005

Cowboy & Sickboy
This months profile spotlights two of the Boozefighters unique members: the
father & son team of R.J. Cowboy Carter & Ryan Sickboy Carter.
Cowboy has been affiliated with the Boozefighters since 1998, first as a
member of Chapter 6 as their Sergeant-at-Arms and Event Coordinator. A
Northern California native, he was born on August 9, 1956, which makes him
a Leo! Leos like to be in charge... He is now the President & Charter
Holder of Chapter 21.
Cowboy took his first ride on a Honda 250 SC, became hooked on riding, and
soon acquired a chopped Sportster which was later sold to Lowell Palmer,
pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. These days he rides a gorgeous 1990
Softail Street Fighter, which he built from the ground up.

After working for 28 years as a baker, Cowboy retired to Placerville
California with his wife Catnip. But retirement has not slowed him down
any; it has just opened up more time for riding and presiding over Chapter
21.
It is been said that Cowboy is directly related to the legendary "Carter
Family" and a cousin of June Carter Cash.
To this day, bikers from all walks of life and clubs in the northern
California area seek out his advice on matters of etiquette, protocol, or
even a good joke. There are very few establishments one can walk into where
his name is not known.
Like father, like son, Sickboy too was born in Northern California on April
2, 1977 in Sacramento. As a tyke, Sickboy
caught his first ride on the gas tank of his fathers bike, which somehow
resulted in Cowboy having a bee fly into his mouth& the details of how this
turned out are hazy, but it made for an interesting first ride! Being around
his father gave him a natural interest in motorcycles, and throughout his
life
Sickboy has been an avid rider, be it the dirt bike he rode as a kid, or
his current Fatboy.
Now a family man, Sickboy has been around The Boozefighters most of his
life, officially joining the club in 2004, and is currently Chapter 21s
Sergeant-at-Arms.
Cowboy is responsible for founding the
extremely popular El-Dorado County
Food and Toy Run along with an annual event benefiting the National
Scleroderma Foundation that starts on the steps of the State Capital
